What is the Viksit Bharat Buildathon 2025?

The Viksit Bharat Buildathon 2025 is a nationwide innovation movement and school-level hackathon encouraging young minds to ideate, design, and develop prototypes (both STEM and non-STEM) that address real-life challenges under themes of national importance.

It is designed to strengthen experiential learning, as envisioned by the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, and to celebrate student innovators on a national and global platform. The highlight is the National Live Buildathon—a synchronized innovation event across the country.

Who Can Participate?

The Buildathon is open to school students from Classes 6 to 12 across India.

  • Team Size: Students must form a team of 5 to 7 members from the same school.
  • School Participation: Schools are encouraged to register multiple teams.

How to Register for Viksit Bharat Buildathon 2025

Step-by-Step Registration Process (for Schools/Teachers)

  1. Visit the Portal: Go to the official Viksit Bharat Buildathon website at vbb.mic.gov.in.
  2. Access Registration: Click on the “Register/Login” button on the homepage.
  3. School/Teacher Registration: Schools, often through a designated teacher (e.g., the ATL In-Charge), must initiate the registration using the School UDISE Code.
  4. Enter Details: Complete the required school and teacher/ATL In-Charge details and verify using an OTP.
  5. Create Teams: The registered teacher will then create the student teams (5-7 members per team) on the portal.
  6. Idea Submission (Initial Concept): Teams may be required to submit an initial idea or project concept as part of the registration process.

Teams are required to submit their final entries—in the form of a 2-5 minute video and a project summary/report—on the portal during the submission window (October 14 to October 31,2025).
